Following last week’s update, ESP32-based audio development boards receive a new firmware web installer
It works in a very similar way; you get Sendspin firmware as a default recommended choice, but both 16-bit and 32-bit squeezelite-esp32 variants are available as well.
Speaking of Sendspin, once you have firmware installed, you’ll onboard wifi using the same web installer. Next, you have two options:
- Onboard the device in Home Assistant either through the web UI or mobile app, and trust me to release firmware updates on GitHub; the device will pull them automatically.
- Onboard the device also in the ESPHome builder, and rebuild on your own schedule, as you get your HA and ESPHome apps updated.
Similar to the Esparagus web installer page, AirPlay and Snapclient web installers are linked at the bottom. Most of the boards are supported already, while a few are on the way.
